New York City — March 2020

At the peak of the pandemic, the city fell silent. Noon arrived without movement. Streets that were once impossibly crowded stood still under an unfamiliar light — familiar and unrecognizable at the same time.

These photographs were made in that suspended moment: the pause between fear and survival, presence and absence. In the stillness, every shadow felt louder, every empty space heavier.

They are not only about emptiness, but about the weight of collective fear, the quiet resilience of a city holding its breath, and the strange, fragile beauty that emerged in the silence.
